The Oakland A’s lose 2B Eric Patterson for the season

The Oakland A’s have lost 2B Eric Patterson for the season due to a strained hamstring. Patterson played in 30 games for the A’s after coming over from the Cubs in the Rich Harden trade and he was 16 for 92 (.174 avg, .476 OPS) with 11 runs scored, 8 RBIs and 8 stolen bases. Patterson will be replaced at 2B with Cliff Pennington. Pennington has played in 27 games for the A’s this season and he is 18 for 68 (.265 avg, .663 OPS) with 10 runs scored and 5 RBIs.
