The A’s have claimed 27-year old lefty swinging 1B Jeff Larish off waivers from the Tigers. Larish played in 3 games for the Tigers this year and he was 2 of 10 (.200 avg, .400 OPS) with 1 RBI. Larish has now played in 77 games in his three years in the majors and he is 45 of 188 (.239 avg, .711 OPS) with 25 runs scored, 6 homers, 24 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. Larish has a lot of power but he whiffs a lot (63) so the A’s will likely have to show some patience with him.
